Makito X Encoder: Audio Talkback
Learn how the Makito X encoder and decoder pair can provide bi-directional communication in low latency workflows.
Hey. Sten-Erik Gruman here. So the Makito X, our low latency encoder for Broadcast, Enterprise, and Defense. We know the Makito X can transport secure H.264 and HEVC video over any network, making it ideal for live, interactive, and bandwidth constrained applications. But what else can I do with my Makito X?
In this video, we’re going to look at a feature called talkback. It’s one of the cool things you can do with your Makito X Encoder when paired with a Makito X Decoder. So you use talkback for cueing or IFB for my broadcast people, which is critical for interactive streaming workflows.
Here’s how it works. You have a presenter at a remote site and a producer at a broadcast studio monitoring the camera feed with a live H.264 video stream sent from the Makito X Encoder to the Makito X Decoder. The presenter is standing by to go live. And with the addition of a microphone, earpiece, and the talkback feature, my producer can send live audio instructions. They talk, I listen. This is just another example of one of the cool things you can do with your Makito X. Get in touch.
