Haivision at IBC 2019: SRT and SRT Hub
Editor’s Note: Please note that Haivision Hub was known as SRT Hub in September 2019. You can see our upcoming events at this page.
IBC 2019 is right around the corner – less than a week! At Haivision, we’re excited for the chance to meet with our partners, clients, and friends in the broadcast world while in the lovely city of Amsterdam.
And while IBC is an exciting show, we know it can also be a bit of a hectic one. Over 55,000 people from over 150 countries, and 1,700 exhibitors attended in 2018, showcasing the best in broadcast. With so much to do and see over five short days, veterans of the conference know that it can be a challenge to see everything you want to see.
Do you already know your schedule and want to make sure you have a chance to chat with us? Book your meeting now.

Come See What We Can Do at our Booth
Hall 14, Booth G27
Come meet us in Hall 14, booth G27. We will be showcasing the latest in broadcast video streaming solutions for remote production, REMI, live linear distribution to OTT, and cloud-based workflows. Our booth will feature demonstrations of the new Makito X4 4K video encoder and our new SRT Hub cloud media routing service.
We may also have a sneak peak available for one of our new announcements. (I’m afraid that’s all I’m allowed to say about that!)

SRT Open Source Technical Panel
Sun, Sep 15, 11:00 – Room G104
Join video streaming experts from Bridge Technologies, Globo, Haivision, and Red Bee Media as they discuss the latest technical developments of the open source SRT video streaming protocol. This panel will actually be kicking off “SRT Sunday” – you can stick around after the panel for demonstrations from SRT Alliance members on the different uses for the protocol, or to see one of the other panels below.
If we could give one word of advice, it would be to arrive to this panel early to ensure that you get a seat, as last year’s open source SRT technical panel at IBC was packed. Watch here.
SRT Hub Technical Overview
Sun, Sep 15, 13:30 – Room G104
For many, this presentation will be an introduction to SRT Hub, the result of a partnership between Haivision and Microsoft Azure. SRT Hub is a cloud media routing service that works off the Microsoft Azure backbone, creating unparalleled access and reach for broadcasters.
Considering that SRT Hub “stole the show” with its initial debut at NAB 2019 in the Spring, this is not a presentation to be missed. Come learn how cloud media routing is poised to transform broadcast contribution workflows.
Broadcast Production in the Cloud
Sun, Sep 15, 16:00 – Room G104
How can broadcasters compete with the speed and cost-efficacy of social media? In this panel, join service providers and broadcasters explore cloud-based production workflows for broadcasters. Listen to video experts from Avid, Haivision, Telestream, and Wowza as they discuss the current challenges of accelerating the production of breaking news and delivering live events and how SRT Hub and Microsoft Azure cloud services address them.
Watch now and learn how broadcasters are using secure, real-time, internet-based, connections to fuel broadcast cloud services and keep their production processes competitive.
IBC 2019 Innovation Awards
Sun, Sep 15 – Auditorium
As we were thrilled to announce back in July, our customer Riot Games was announced as a finalist in the IBC 2019 Innovation Awards, with Haivision listed as the technical partner. Riot Games earned its nomination in the Content Creation category for the innovative remote production workflow used in the 2018 League of Legends World Championship in Seoul, South Korea.
Join us at the awards ceremony on Sunday, September 15; the ceremony is held in the auditorium and is open for all to attend.
Want to learn more about how Haivision’s Makito X video encoders and decoders played a key role in Riot Games’ REMI workflow? Click here to read how this workflow supported the ingest of high-quality HD video for backhaul over a cost-efficient IP network, with an end-to-end latency of under 150 milliseconds.
